A Good Book for Writers

Recently I read a book called Time to Write, by Kelly L. Stone.  For me, it was one of those books that came along at just the right time.  If you happen to be at a point with your writing (or lack of writing) where you don't know what you want to do next, I recommend reading this book.  Stone interviewed over 100 professional writers to find out what their "secrets" were for finding time to write.  What she uncovered were writers who shared their lives and the ways in which writing fits into those lives.  Of course, there is no secret to finding time, you just have to make a commitment to yourself and do it.  Still, sometimes it's nice to see a plan put in front of you and to hear words that, deep down, you already know are true.

Young Artists

This is what happened when my childhood friend and I were out at her pool with our other children. The event was probably a direct cause of our agreeing that these two were completely trustworthy alone in the house for a few minutes. Luckily, my friend's living room carpet was unharmed during this episode of artistic abandon.

Jumping Right In

This picture makes me smile every time I look at it. What a way to live life -- a big smile, a Nemo bathing suit, putting your whole self into whatever you're doing. And just jumping without thinking too hard.
